Scientific research
My PhD and postdoctoral research explored biologically inspired vision, image fusion and compression at IO-CSIC and ETSIT–UPM, followed by biomedical and microscopy imaging at VISILAB–UCLM.
AI research & multimedia innovation
I lead the Multimedia Technologies Unit at Eurecat, translating advances in artificial intelligence and multimedia into real-world applications with industrial and societal impact.
Research focus
My work connects AI research and multimedia technologies with industrial challenges in multiple sectors including ICT, cultural and creative industries, retail, mobility, manufacturing, robotics and health. Current interests include synthetic data, multimodal and generative AI, neural rendering, 3D reconstruction and human-centered interactive systems.
Experience
My PhD and postdoctoral research explored biologically inspired vision, image fusion and compression at IO-CSIC and ETSIT–UPM, followed by biomedical and microscopy imaging at VISILAB–UCLM.
After joining Eurecat, my work evolved toward applied deep learning, multimodal and generative AI, neural rendering and human–computer interaction. I led the Image Group from 2022 to 2025.
I have contributed to European and Spanish R&D projects, participated in the network of excellence AI4ES, led several CIDAI Impact Projects, and evaluated tech-driven ventures for The Collider.
Perspective
An MSc in Sonology at UPF–ESMUC (2012) shaped a long-standing interest in the intersection of image, sound and interactive technologies. This perspective continues to inform both my research and creative computing practice. Explore the blog, creative projects or code.
